The Rotary Club of Prairie du Chien intends to offer a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior from the Prairie du Chien area (Wauzeka, Seneca, River Ridge, and MFL Mar-Mac high schools). This scholarship will be awarded to a student we feel is a good ambassador for our community and shares the same ideals expressed in Rotary's "Four Way Test":
The application should be approached as if applying for a job. Rotary would like a "resume" listing your qualifications and experience both in school and out. This could be as simple as a list of your activities and accomplishments, but is not limited to that. A "cover letter" or short essay should be included selling yourself as the best candidate for this scholarship. This should be used to help the Rotary members get to know you.
• The "resume" and "cover letter" discussed above including contact information.
• School transcripts showing a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Acceptance and registration at a college or university (Note: Funds are not released until proof of registration is provided.)
• Broad base of activities and interests both in and out of school
• Community service activities
• Previous recognition for accomplishments
• Financial need will only be used if necessary and will carry the least weight
• When applicants are otherwise equally qualified preference will be given to students of current Rotary members
